Community Outreach

Training & Outreach

The Utah Office for Victims of Crime (UOVC) is committed to actively engaging with the community to raise awareness about our vital mission and the comprehensive support services we provide.

UOVC is excited to take part in community events that help people learn about who we are and the services we offer. We would love to join you at your next event by tabling and/or providing community presentations.

Community Event Participation and Outreach

We are thrilled to participate in a diverse range of community events across the state. These events offer a valuable opportunity for us to connect with residents, and local organizations. Our goal at every event is to help people gain a deeper understanding of:

  • Who UOVC is: Our role within the state, our mission, and the principles that guide our work.
  • The Services We Offer: A detailed overview of the various forms of assistance available, including financial compensation, victim advocacy, resources, and information on the criminal justice process.

Partner With UOVC

We are eager to collaborate with your organization, school, business, or community group. If you are planning an upcoming event, we would be delighted to partner with you in one of the following capacities:

  • Tabling and Resource Distribution: We can set up an informative table, staffed by UOVC representatives, to distribute free educational materials, answer questions, and direct individuals to appropriate resources.
  • Community Presentations and Training: UOVC staff are available to provide tailored presentations to your audience. These can range from general overviews of victims' rights and services to more focused discussions on specific topics related to trauma, recovery, and navigating the aftermath of crime. Our presentations are designed to be informative and relevant to the needs of your particular group.

Community Presentations

The Training and Outreach program offers presentations and training on many topics, such as:

  • Utah’s crime victim compensation program and advocacy
  • Victim Services available in Utah
  • The role and confidentiality of victim advocates
  • How the criminal justice process works
  • Trauma and trauma-informed responses to victims of crime
  • Other related topics upon request
