About Us

Established by the Utah Legislature in February 1986. The mission of the Utah Office for Victims of Crime is to advocate for the rights and needs of crime victims in Utah by assisting in their restoration through financial compensation and other victim services.

The Utah Office for Victims of Crime is a division of the Utah Commission on Criminal and Juvenile Justice. It is governed by a board consisting of seven members appointed by the governor with the consent of the senate (63M-7-504). All meetings are public and recorded on the public meeting website. Pending minutes are available upon request within 30 days of the meeting.
